As President and CEO, Tim provides strategic leadership to ensure the organization’s long-term strength and sustainability. Guided by a mandate to improve the wellbeing and financial security of Canadians, Tim is dedicated to fostering a resilient, values-driven culture that delivers reliable insurance solutions that Canadians can trust.

Since joining Blue Cross Life in 2008, Tim has held several key senior leadership roles, including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer. His tenure has been defined by a commitment to strengthening the organization’s financial resilience and risk governance, while evolving Blue Cross Life’s presence across Canada.

A recognized expert in his field, Tim holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Mathematics from the University of New Brunswick and an MBA with distinction from Heriot-Watt University. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) and the Society of Actuaries (FSA), a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA), a licensed life insurance agent, and holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Patrick Gélinas

As Chief Financial Officer, Patrick oversees the strategic financial stewardship and efficient capital management essential to Blue Cross Life’s long-term resilience. He believes that maintaining a strong financial position is fundamental to delivering sustainable, reliable outcomes for our customers.

With over two decades of experience in the insurance and financial services sectors, Patrick has held senior leadership roles across both Canadian and global organizations. Throughout his career, he has guided companies through complex transformations, including mergers and acquisitions, managing treasury and capital, and the design of robust corporate strategies.

A seasoned financial executive, Patrick is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from HEC Montréal.

Lynne Chlala

Lynne leads the legal, compliance, and privacy functions at Blue Cross Life, providing the clarity necessary to navigate complex regulatory environments. She works closely with the executive team and Board to champion strong governance and effective risk oversight, with a focus on protecting policyholders, safeguarding personal information, and promoting fair treatment of every customer.

With nearly two decades of experience in the life and health insurance sectors, Lynne previously held senior legal and compliance roles at a nationally regulated Canadian insurer. Her expertise spans complex litigation, regulatory engagement, privacy oversight, and non-financial risk management across Canada. She brings a practical, measured approach to leadership that prioritizes accountability and sound decision-making.

Lynne holds a Bachelor of Arts (Joint Honours) in Political Science and History, a Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL), and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from McGill University. A dual-qualified legal professional, she is a member of the Bar in both Québec and Ontario.

Joelyn Bernard

As Chief Risk Officer and Corporate Secretary, Joelyn is responsible for both the enterprise risk management and the corporate governance practices of Blue Cross Life. She provides the transparent analysis and oversight necessary for informed stewardship, organizational resilience, and sustainable growth. Joelyn believes in prudent risk-taking, embedding practices that enable innovation while safeguarding long-term value for the company.

Joelyn joined Blue Cross Life in 2016, following more than 15 years in specialized advisory and professional services. During her time with the organization, she has been instrumental in advancing transparency and accountability, ensuring effective governance while building stakeholder trust.

Joelyn holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Bishop’s University. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Linda Maillet Foran

Linda’s work has helped position Blue Cross Life as a nationally recognized carrier, particularly within the group life and disability markets. Her leadership has been instrumental in expanding the company's national reach into voluntary and individual life offerings. She is focused on designing innovative and reliable products that serve to strengthen the financial security and wellbeing of Canadians over the long term.

Linda holds a Bachelor of Actuarial Science from Université Laval and is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA).

Jonathan Ferron

His work is foundational to the company’s stability, as he oversees complex modeling and risk analysis that safeguard our commitment to policyholders. 

With over two decades of experience, Jonathan has developed expertise in risk management, capital adequacy, and asset-liability management. He has played a lead role in navigating evolving international financial standards and industry best practices, often contributing his insights to national actuarial committees. Jonathan is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity, ensuring that Blue Cross Life is well-positioned to meet its commitments both today and into the future.

Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Actuarial Science from Université Laval. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA), a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA).

Maureen Premdas

Maureen brings extensive experience from her work in strategic consulting and the financial services sector. She combines a deep actuarial foundation with a practical approach to distribution, ensuring solutions are not only thoughtfully designed, but also reach the people who need them most.

Maureen holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Statistics from Queen’s University. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) and a licensed life insurance agent.

Nathalie is dedicated to strong organizational governance and integrity, aligning these best practices with prudent financial stewardship.

With nearly four decades of experience in the insurance industry, Nathalie has held senior leadership roles across group life, disability, rehabilitation services, and litigation. She believes there is a profound responsibility in providing financial protection. To Nathalie, this means a commitment to disciplined risk management, fairness in adjudication, and a consistent focus on earning the trust of our customers.

Nathalie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Concordia University and specialized industry designations (FLMI, ALHC) in life management and health claims. Beyond her role at Blue Cross Life, she is a recognized industry advocate, serving on national committees (CLHIA) to help shape best practices for medical underwriting, disability, and life insurance across Canada.
