Critical Illness Insurance

When employers offer Blue Cross Life voluntary critical Illness insurance, they’re giving employees access to added protection that they can only gain through the workplace. And with value-added services from TELUS® Health Care Centres and PinnacleCare, employees get best-in-class medical concierge assistance for locating the right doctors and facilities for their care.

How does voluntary critical illness insurance work?

Employees choose benefits to protect themselves and any family members. Then, if diagnosed with a covered critical illness, they will receive a cash benefit based on the percentage payable for the condition. If they have a question regarding a diagnosed or suspected critical illness, or need help filing a claim, a Nurse Navigator can help address their concerns. Covered critical illnesses include heart attack, stroke, major organ failure, kidney failure, carcinoma in situ, invasive cancer, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and more, depending on which coverage is selected.
